An approach designed around your child's strengths, needs, and real-life goals
A Personalized ABA Day Program
Every child with autism is a unique individual, with their own strengths, interests, and ways of experiencing the world. At Mindcolor Autism, our goal is to recognize those strengths and create an environment where they can truly flourish.
Designed Around Your Child
We offer custom ABA therapy programs for autism that are tailored to each young learner's current skills, motivations, and developmental stage. This evidence-based, data-driven treatment aims to reduce unsafe behaviors and provide children with healthier alternatives.
A well-researched therapy for autism
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is one of the most well-researched therapies for autism. Major organizations like the American Psychological Association and the U.S. Surgeon General recommend it.
The Core Idea Behind ABA
ABA therapy helps children with autism learn new skills and find more effective ways to communicate what they need, especially when they're feeling overwhelmed or stressed.
The core idea behind ABA is that behavior can be taught and strengthened through practice and positive reinforcement.
ABA therapy focuses on communication, social interaction, daily routines, and reducing behaviors that interfere with learning.
During ABA therapy sessions, our clinicians:
Age-appropriate learning for every child
Children grow and change quickly between the ages of 2 and 12. The way a toddler learns looks very different from how an eight-year-old processes information. At Mindcolor Autism, our ABA day programs are designed not just around age but also developmental stages, the child's attention span, emotional development, and readiness level.

Building meaningful skills through custom ABA therapy
ABA therapy develops abilities that make your child's life easier, safer, and more connected.
Intellectual Functioning
Problem-solving and flexible thinking make transitions, new places, and unexpected changes much easier to handle. To develop in these areas, your child may practice following multi-step directions, finishing tasks without reminders, or trying a new strategy when something doesn’t work the first time.
Social Functioning
Social situations can feel very unpredictable to a child with autism. During sessions, children receive guidance from their therapists and practice in a safe, nurturing environment. Your child may work on:
- Taking turns
- Responding when someone speaks to them
- Recognizing facial expressions
- Asking to join an activity
Language Development
Clear communication reduces frustration and increases independence. Therapy may focus on spoken language, sign language, or communication devices, depending on your child’s needs. Children practice requesting help, answering questions, labeling objects, and expressing preferences.
Daily Living Skills
Self-care routines are taught step by step. Children may practice dressing, washing hands, cleaning up after activities, and following visual schedules. As these routines become familiar, children require fewer reminders and participate more independently in daily life.
What does an ABA therapy session look like at Mindcolor?
A session at our ABA day program is never dull, but also not overwhelming. Your child is learning, and at the same time, they're playing, exploring, and experiencing small moments of success throughout the day.

Warm Welcome
When your child arrives, they’re greeted by their dedicated therapist in a colorful environment designed to reduce unpleasant sensory experiences. Depending on their preferences, their therapist might offer a friendly high-five, wave, or a simple “hello.”
Familiar routines, such as checking a visual schedule or placing belongings in a cubby, help children settle in comfortably. Start-of-day rituals such as these are essential, as they reduce uncertainty and help children settle in.

Play-Based Learning
At Mindcolor, play is where most of the learning happens. We take into account each child’s preferences and habits when providing instruction.
- For instance, if your child loves toy trains, the train set becomes part of the lesson
- They might practice requesting the “blue engine,” waiting for a turn with a sibling or peer, or connecting tracks to build fine motor strength
Therapists teach communication, turn-taking, and problem-solving through the activity itself. Because children are engaged, skills are more likely to carry into everyday situations.

Social Skills Development
Therapists introduce peer interaction gradually. Children may begin with parallel play before practicing exchanges like sharing materials or asking for a turn. Careful pacing allows children to build comfort and confidence during social experiences.

Parent Connection
At pickup, therapists review your child’s day. You’ll hear what was practiced, how your child responded, and what strategies proved effective.
They also explain why specific approaches worked. This allows you to reinforce those same strategies at home so your child experiences consistency across settings.
Grounded in research. Focused on your child.
Licensed clinicians and Board Certified Behavior Analysts supervise ABA therapy at Mindcolor. Our treatment plans are based on assessment results and reviewed regularly using session data. Decisions are guided by what your child is demonstrating, so goals stay aligned with their progress and current needs.
Individualized Programming
Goals are selected based on your child’s strengths, challenges, and family priorities. We consider what motivates your child and which skills will have the most significant impact on daily life. As your child develops new abilities, the program is updated to reflect their current stage.
Collaborative Care
With your permission, we coordinate with teachers and other providers involved in your child’s care. Consistent strategies across home, school, and therapy help children apply skills more reliably in different environments.
Whole-Child Focus
Sleep, sensory preferences, emotional stress, and physical health all influence learning. When challenges arise, therapists consider context before adjusting instruction. Goals are chosen to improve everyday functioning, not just performance during sessions.
Family Involvement
Parents participate in goal discussions and receive practical strategies used during therapy. Your observations help guide decisions, especially when patterns appear at home. Clear communication between families and clinicians strengthens consistency across settings.

After receiving your intake documents, we verify your insurance benefits and confirm eligibility for ABA services. Our team works with many commercial insurers, Tricare, and Medicaid in select locations. We communicate directly with your provider to obtain required authorizations and keep you informed throughout the process so there are no surprises.

The Assessment
A licensed clinician conducts direct observations, skill assessments, and caregiver interviews to understand your child’s current abilities. We evaluate communication, social interaction, daily routines, and learning patterns. Based on that information, we develop a personalized treatment plan and review it with you before therapy begins.
Welcome to Mindcolor Autism
Once insurance approval is secured and scheduling is finalized, your child begins therapy. We introduce routines gradually so your child can become familiar with the environment and staff. Early sessions focus on building comfort, trust, and a positive rhythm before introducing new learning targets.
