WHAT WE DO

Our Pflugerville center provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to help improve the lives of children and families impacted by autism.

What is Autism?

Autism, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is characterized by a range of conditions relating to challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. Autism occurs in all ethnic, racial, and economic groups, and affects an estimated 1 in 31 children in the United States today.

What is ABA?

ABA therapy is a scientifically-validated intervention to support individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) based on decades of research and endorsed by leading health agencies. The goal of ABA is to improve socially significant behaviors while decreasing behaviors that might interfere with independent functioning or behaviors that pose a safety risk.

Mindcolor Autism’s Pflugerville center delivers ABA therapy and autism services to families in Pflugerville, Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, Hutto, and Taylor.

Our dedicated team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and behavior therapists and technicians at our Pflugerville center provide compassionate, individualized ABA therapy for your child.

We work with children ages 2-9 and accept most commercial insurance plans and Tricare. By raising the bar for autism services and breaking down barriers to care, we strive to help every child with autism receive the care they deserve.

ABA Therapy for Children Ages 2 to 9 in Pflugerville

Our program supports children ages 2 to 9. Therapy for children with autism works best when it starts early, because young children learn quickly and the skills they build now often carry over to school and home. Early intervention gives your child more time to practice communication, play, and self-care before the demands of school grow. Contacting an autism center early also gives your family time to ask questions, complete an evaluation if needed, and start at a comfortable pace.

How We Help Your Child Build Skills With ABA

ABA therapy helps children learn communication, play, and self-care skills in small, achievable steps. Because ABA therapy is an evidence-based approach, goals are tracked with data and adjusted as your child grows.

Programs can include social interaction with peers, daily living skills such as dressing and handwashing, and ways to help children express what they need with words, signs, or a communication device. Our team uses play and praise to make learning fun, and goals focus on skills children can use during therapy, at home, and at school. Programs can also include natural environment teaching, where skills are practiced during everyday routines and play.

Personalized Treatment Plan for Your Child's Needs and Goals

Every child starts with an assessment, and your BCBA will create a personalized therapy plan based on what the assessment shows. This personalized ABA therapy approach means no two plans look alike. Your child's needs and goals guide each step, and the plan is reviewed regularly so it keeps pace with your child's progress.

Our team is dedicated to your child's well-being and development, and we share data and updates so your family can see progress over time.

Our ABA therapy location at 2300 Rowe Ln, Suite 101 is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Our ABA center is a welcoming, child-friendly space designed for learning and practice.

How therapy is delivered depends on the child. Center-based ABA therapy helps children practice skills in a structured setting with trained staff nearby, while in-home ABA therapy brings sessions into the family's home. Our Pflugerville center provides center-based care, and our team can talk through what fits your family best.

Meet Our Highly Trained ABA Therapists and BCBAs

Behind every plan is a team that works together. BCBAs design and supervise each program, and our therapists carry out the plan during one-to-one teaching and play. Our ABA therapy services are overseen by BCBAs who review your child's data and adjust teaching when needed. Because everyone works as one team, your family hears the same message and sees the same strategies from every person who works with your child.

ROADMAP

The ABA therapy roadmap

From Assessment to Achievement: each child's therapy journey follows a thoughtful, proven process designed to support their unique development and celebrate their progress every step of the way.

1

ABA Assessment

Assessment is a critical starting point in understanding your child's specific challenges, strengths and needs. Assessment can take a variety of forms but typically involves direct observation, interviews, surveys, and establishing baseline levels of skills and responding. The primary goal of assessment in ABA therapy is to help the BCBA develop an individualized treatment plan with specific goals and targets that will be incorporated into your child's daily sessions.

2

Individualized Plan

Based on findings from the assessment, an individualized plan is created. You might often hear this called an individualized treatment plan (ITP), or a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP). The plan will set specific, measurable and achievable goals, establish specific teaching procedures, and a plan for implementation.

3

Begin ABA Therapy

Once your plan has been established, ABA therapy begins. Trained technicians and your BCBA will implement the strategies outlined in the plan through structured teaching sessions, often in a 1:1 therapist to client ratio. The plan will involve family guidance and collaboration as well as plans for ongoing data collection and analysis.

4

Tracking Progress

Progress will be tracked each session and summarized frequently for your child. Your BCBA will analyze data regularly and make decisions about modifying programs to ensure success. BCBAs will request review meetings with your family to ensure discussion of progress and to identify needed adjustments to the treatment plan. When your child meets their goals, new goals will be established to keep them acquiring new skills.

5

Fading ABA Therapy

As your child progresses, ABA therapy may be thoughtfully adjusted and transition support defined and provided. A big focus on fading services is on ensuring that learned skills are maintained and generalized across settings. Your BCBA will likely increase a focus on independence ensuring your child can learn from environments where high levels of support are not provided (e.g., general education classrooms).

6

Graduation and Lifelong Learning!

Children will conclude ABA therapy once they demonstrate the ability to learn from their natural environment and development shifts have occurred such that their growth and development is similar to their same aged peers. This is often referred to as graduation and it is a milestone to be celebrated!

We've been with several ABA companies in San Antonio. None compare to Mindcolor. Everyone there loves what they do. They love the kids they work with and everyone is so polite, always. They are making great progress with our daughter and it's so exciting to see.
