How did you initially get started in the field of ABA?
After moving to Colorado in 2018, I took an administrative assistant position at an ABA company, not realizing how much I'd fall in love with the field! The more I learned about the impact of ABA, the more passionate I became about it, and the more inspired I was to grow within the field! Seven years later, I'm proud to be a part of Mindcolor, where I get to collaborate with such incredible team members and families on a daily basis. It's exciting to be part of a community that values both professional growth and the positive impact we can have in the lives of others! It's truly such a rewarding field!
Can you describe your journey within Mindcolor, from your starting position to where you are now?
I joined the Mindcolor team as an Operations Associate (OA) at the North Colorado Springs Location. As an OA, I had the opportunity to collaborate with an amazing team to ensure our families and staff had all of the resources they needed. From coordinating schedules to offering operational support, every aspect of the role allowed me to contribute meaningfully to the company's mission! I have since stepped into Mindcolor's Compliance Department as a Compliance Specialist! This role has given me the chance to deepen my understanding of the critical processes that ensure our services remain effective, ethical, and in line with the most up-to-date practices within the field.
How did Mindcolor support your career growth?
Mindcolor genuinely invests in the growth and success of its team members, and this is evident between bi-annual performance reviews and team engagement surveys, which allow staff to be heard and highlighted regularly. Additionally, a huge part of my journey has been shaped by our VP of Compliance, Meade McHenry! Meade's guidance and unwavering support has been absolutely invaluable since beginning my new role— I have been able to overcome challenges, expand my knowledge, and confidently advance in my career, all while maintaining a positive work-life balance.
What is your favorite part about your job?
I love having the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across our organization, ensuring our centers can operate at the highest standards, while maintaining a culture of collaboration, integrity, and support. I love working alongside such a supportive team where our focus lies on being able to help create an environment where teams can focus on their strengths, work in confidence and truly shine in their roles!
Favorite Mindcolor memory? This could be work-related, team fun, events, competitions, etc.
One of my favorite Mindcolor memories has to be when I was an OA at NCOS and our team won the Mindcolor company-wide TikTok challenge! It was such a cool experience seeing all the centers across the country come together for a fun and friendly competition. The energy was contagious, and my center had an absolute blast combining our creative, competitive spirit to take home the top spot! (Shout out NCOS!) It was a moment of pure joy and teamwork!
