How did you initially get started in the field of ABA?
After my son's diagnosis, I knew I wanted to learn more about ABA and get more involved in the field. There were a lot of challenges that came with it and I wanted to be able to better support him and other families navigating the same journey.
Can you describe your journey within Mindcolor, from your starting position to where you are now?
I started as an Operations Associate, working in the center where I learned so much about the day to day operations. What I loved most about being in center was seeing the direct impact of our services and watching our clients grow over time. When I learned about an opening in the billing department, I saw it as a great opportunity to expand my knowledge of the other side of ABA and support families in a different way.
How did Mindcolor support your career growth?
Everyone at Mindcolor was incredibly supportive during my transition from Operations Associate to Billing. My Center Director (Kate Loving) was very encouraging when I shared my interest in the new role and Andy and Jimmy helped me facilitate the process as an internal candidate by quickly connecting me with the Billing Manager (Sara Stanchak). Mindcolor has always provided me with all the training and resources I've needed to succeed in both positions. Plus, every department is always quick to offer help, find answers, and provide guidance whenever it's needed. The direct feedback I've received every six months during performance reviews has also been really valuable for my professional and personal growth.
What is your favorite part about your job?
I love connecting with families!
Favorite Mindcolor memory? This could be work-related, team fun, events, competitions, etc.
When I was working in center I was able to attend a client's ABA graduation and it was so special!
