How did you initially get started in the field of ABA?
I was an elementary special education teacher and worked with a couple of students who received ABA services. While collaborating with their ABA team I got to know more about the field and it made so much sense to me. I loved that treatment was completely individualized for the clients, as well as the families.
Can you describe your journey within Mindcolor, from your starting position to where you are now?
I started at Mindcolor in July 2020 as a BCBA at our Franklin center. In the summer of 2022 I became the Associate Lead BCBA at the Franklin center, and then transitioned to the Center Director role in December 2022. In January of 2025 I started my new role of Regional Director for the greater Milwaukee area in Wisconsin.
How did Mindcolor support your career growth?
Mindcolor has not only put clients, but team members, at the forefront of everything they are trying to accomplish - high quality services. They do this by opening up avenues where team members can be heard, and seen, as well as grow in to areas that they are passionate about. I honestly never thought I would be in a center director role and now I'm in a regional director role because I have been able to learn from the best and receive support and guidance throughout my transitions, knowing that I will continue to receive support and collaboration throughout my journey. Mindcolor has opened my eyes to new opportunities and new ways that I can support our families, and staff, and I couldn't be more excited about what is to come next!
What is your favorite part about your job?
My favorite part of my job is being a small part of the journey that our clients and their families go on from coming in to our services to their graduation and discharge. I have learned more from each of the clients I have been lucky enough to work with than I could ever teach them. And all along the way, I get to do it with a team that cares so deeply and genuinely about our clients and providing them with the highest quality of services possible making each and every day a special one.
Favorite Mindcolor memory? This could be work-related, team fun, events, competitions, etc.
I have a lot of memories to choose from but I would have to say Mindcolor Field Days is something I always look forward to. It allows our Wisconsin centers to come together, hang out, get some team bonding in and just enjoy ourselves while being able to act like kids. It's a really fun day!
