Inside ABA Therapy at Mindcolor Autism

Updated: Feb 23

We have one mission, to positively impact the lives of children with autism. Mindcolor Autism was founded in 2019 with the goal of providing high quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to families impacted by autism. ABA is the most commonly prescribed evidence-based treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), validated by decades of research and endorsed by leading national health agencies.

Mindcolor Autism has four founding principles: client centric service, best-in-class team, culture of excellence, and tireless advocacy. We take pride in the quality, not quantity, of our services that can be measured by the success of our clients and through our collaborative, supportive team culture. We advocate alongside parents and other stakeholders to make autism treatment more accessible and affordable.

The principle of integrity guides our every action. We have said it before and we’ll say it again - families are the experts of their child, we are the experts in ABA. Together these two powerful forces will always support the best interest of each of our clients. Individualized therapy is a key component to ABA services, but what does that mean at Mindcolor? In a nutshell, it means we tailor our therapy to our client’s needs by listening to THEM! Through observation, caregiver collaboration, assessment, and play, our team does their best to get to know our clients to establish healthy relationships. We understand that doing the right thing for our clients will always come first. Family collaboration is key to the success of each and every child. At Mindcolor, our team of clinicians make individualized recommendations for these medically necessary services based on coordination with family and other members of the child’s treatment team to set each child up for success.

We believe in a team approach at Mindcolor Autism. We love what we do every day and we strive to routinely evaluate our own progress, alongside our learners. Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) are highly trained, certified clinicians who design and implement your child's treatment plan. Our BCBAs conduct the initial assessment, develop an individualized treatment plan, lead your child's treatment team, provide caregiver coaching, and ensure we deliver the highest quality care to your child and family. Our Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) and Behavior Technicians (BT) work closely with our BCBAs to deliver one on one direct therapy for your child. Our team members have significant experience and training working with children; our RBTs undergo a minimum of 40 hours of initial training, and both RBTs and BTs continue to receive ongoing training and supervision from our BCBAs. We also have a team of in-house licensed clinical psychologists that can offer comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to help assess and diagnose ASD in children (in select locations). By closely working together within our own teams we achieve the best outcomes.

Lastly, our culture of excellence is established by utilizing research-based methods that are accountable, data-driven, and aim to deliver exceptional results to our clients. We strive to be a thought leader in our communities with our diverse group of clinicians and expertise. Our BCBAs maintain manageable caseloads to ensure our clients receive the best care and so they can prioritize continuing education courses to maintain competency in the field. These courses can range from anything like ethics, to supervision, to recent research or best practices when teaching certain skills to promote client success.

For every child we serve, we embark on an unwavering mission to open new possibilities in their life. We are continuously raising the bar for autism services and strive to make an impact on the children, families and communities around us.
